To add to the value of the site www.legislation.govt.nz, and to provide openness, transparency, accountability and responsiveness in relation to New Zealand's international human rights obligations by;

a.       developing online a clearer, more publicly accessible articulation of New Zealand's human rights commitments in international law, and

b.      tabling New Zealand reports to, and Concluding Observations of, international treaty bodies on the web, in parliament, and for consideration by relevant select committees, together with Government responses to the Concluding Observations.

This proposal addresses the OGP Values of: Transparency, access to information, civic participation, and improving public accountability, and Technology and innovation for openness and accountability.

Why the contribution is important

Information is power, and we need a more systematic approach to getting this information into the public domain.
