fully searchable data on a single database.

Make local and national government fully searchable data on a single database.  Also try to establish commonality of measurements and terms used.

Why the contribution is important

There is often overlap of responsibilities. A single database would avoid some duplication, provide a clear source of information and provide better decision making by facilitating access to information. It would also allow public and journalists to make informed positive suggestions.

I'm not sure what you mean here but agree that we need common terms and measurements

This would require careful management of privacy, but the gains would make it well worth it as it would give front-line staff more comprehensive information on a family, to help them better support that family; plus it would then be possible to analyse trends and pathways across health, education, social welfare, corrections etc, with reasonable ease and therefore on a regular basis. The valuable information from the recent analysis across just education, corrections and Work and Income shows what can be gained from such analyses.
